English Language is ♥
Doing two English subjects for school this year was always going to be painful at some point, as I said here. English is being a real pain but I am definitely starting to enjoy English Language.
Learning how the English language is built and how we write things as small as phrases and how every single word belongs to a group of words; not only nouns, verbs and groups like that but prepositions, determiners and auxiliaries just to name a few - I never realised how complex our language really is. Now I feel extremely sorry for anyone trying to learn English as a second language and now I truly understand why it is one of the hardest - if not the hardest - languages to learn in the world.
Organisation is Key
So my Dad and I wrote up a schedule for me so that I know when I should be doing school work. Why? Because I am the absolute worst at getting distracted; I am constantly doing something else when I should be doing school work (like writing this post!). Right now I’m learning about syntax and the structure of sentences which is surprisingly fun and very educational :)
School Work = Pain
Yes, school work is being extremely painful. I have so much work to do; I’m already behind and tomorrow is only the start of week 3! I’m doing two English subjects this year and there is just so much work that I don’t know how they expect us to finish it all in one week. Because of this, I am writing less and less every day and it’s starting to drive me insane.
On a brighter note, I went out and bought Season One of Leverage… finally! I am so in love with this show. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Check out Hell Yeah Leverage
It’s my birthday in two weeks (random but necessary)
Writing Again
So it’s already February and I’ve finally started writing on a bit more of a regular basis. I’ve decided to go back to my NaNoWriMo novel, All the King’s Men, and finish the first draft before going through it all and probably re-writing a lot of it. I have so many new ideas in my head for the story that after I edit it the story may be entirely different and I’m hoping that it’ll be a lot better than it is at the moment.
I’ve also started writing what I’m just going to call a ‘series’ of poems about different things. All of the poems are going to sort of tie in together in some way (at least that’s the original idea) and I’ll be posting them all on deviantART separately as I finish them. I’ve also started a second series of poems but those ones are going to take much longer to finish and I’m kind of pushing them aside at the moment for the rest of my writing.
On a slightly happier (and maybe even sadder) note, this is my last year of school. Though I will be extremely happy that it’s all going to be over this time next year, it is going to cut into my writing and other hobbies quite a bit which I’m not too happy about. I’m doing two English subjects this year though so hopefully I’ll find them a lot easier than the subjects that I chose to do last year. Either way, I will most likely be writing a lot for my subjects so at least writer’s block will have a much harder time coming back and writing more, whether it be for school or not, is never really a bad thing.
