Writing Again
So it’s already February and I’ve finally started writing on a bit more of a regular basis. I’ve decided to go back to my NaNoWriMo novel, All the King’s Men, and finish the first draft before going through it all and probably re-writing a lot of it. I have so many new ideas in my head for the story that after I edit it the story may be entirely different and I’m hoping that it’ll be a lot better than it is at the moment.
I’ve also started writing what I’m just going to call a ‘series’ of poems about different things. All of the poems are going to sort of tie in together in some way (at least that’s the original idea) and I’ll be posting them all on deviantART separately as I finish them. I’ve also started a second series of poems but those ones are going to take much longer to finish and I’m kind of pushing them aside at the moment for the rest of my writing.
On a slightly happier (and maybe even sadder) note, this is my last year of school. Though I will be extremely happy that it’s all going to be over this time next year, it is going to cut into my writing and other hobbies quite a bit which I’m not too happy about. I’m doing two English subjects this year though so hopefully I’ll find them a lot easier than the subjects that I chose to do last year. Either way, I will most likely be writing a lot for my subjects so at least writer’s block will have a much harder time coming back and writing more, whether it be for school or not, is never really a bad thing.
New Home
Well this is different, isn’t it? After a lot of thinking I finally decided that I didn’t post enough to have need for a blogging platform like Wordpress so I decided to put my blog here on Tumblr. I’ve been working towards this for a few days now and this theme took a long time to get right as it started out as a much simpler theme and I’ve almost entirely altered its appearance. Hopefully this all means that you might just be hearing from me a little more often but I’m going to try and make it somewhat interesting. My first order of business: writing a long first post so the sidebars aren’t longer than the content (which looks really weird).
Using Tumblr also enables me to do a lot more with my blog which I didn’t really want to do with my Wordpress blog. I’ll be posting things like favourite or inspirational quotes and some of my favourite songs and just little things like that. You can even ask me questions by clicking here so feel free to ask me something (I’ll try and answer as many of them as I can). I’m really looking forward to the new blog!
What I’ve been up to lately: I’ve almost completed a new poem which is something I haven’t done in a very long time. I’m starting to get back into writing and I’m planning on starting (yet another) writing project as well as going back to last years NaNoWriMo draft. I also just found an unfinished short story in my writing folder so maybe I’ll actual finish that some time soon. I even have a little bit of an art project in the works which I’ve had sitting in my head for a few weeks now. I’m keeping all the details to myself at the moment but hopefully it’ll be a nice change and a lot of fun!
